Build an interactive three-dimensional guide to the beef carcass — a living butcher's reference where the visitor can orbit a real 3D cow, scope the camera in to any primal or subprimal region, and open a rich dossier on each cut covering its history, its character on the animal, and exactly what you can cook with it. The whole thing should feel like stepping up to a master butcher's block: tactile, knowledgeable, a little theatrical, and genuinely explorable rather than a flat labelled diagram. The user asked for 3D, so deliver a true real-time 3D scene the visitor can rotate, pan, and zoom with mouse, touch, and keyboard — not a static illustration with hotspots bolted on.
Segment the animal into the classic American primal and subprimal map, and make every one of these regions an individually selectable, individually highlighted volume with its own boundary seam and hand-lettered label, matching the layout of a traditional butcher's chart: along the top of the back, front to rear, CHUCK, RIB, and SHORT LOIN, then the sirloin cluster broken into its real subprimal pieces — TENDERLOIN tucked along the inside, TOP SIRLOIN and BOTTOM SIRLOIN stacked behind it under the SIRLOIN heading — and the ROUND closing out the hindquarter; along the belly and breast, BRISKET at the front, PLATE in the middle, and FLANK behind it; and the SHANK called out on the legs (fore and hind). Hovering a region should trace its seam with a soft glow and lift its label; selecting it should flood that region in a single warm accent colour while the rest of the carcass recedes, exactly the way a butcher's chart lights up one cut in red against charcoal.
The signature interaction is the scope-in. When a cut is chosen, animate the camera smoothly from the whole-animal view to frame that region close up — isolating it, dimming the neighbours, perhaps peeling the hide back conceptually or rotating to the most informative angle — and slide in a detail dossier. That dossier is the heart of the reference and must be authored, not placeholder. For each cut include: a short history and the origin or meaning of its name and butchery tradition (a few real sentences, not lorem); a plain explanation of its character — where it sits on the animal, how much it works, what that means for fat, connective tissue, and tenderness, and therefore which cooking logic it rewards; the best cooking methods with the *why* behind them (collagen-rich cuts want low and slow, lean tender cuts want fast high heat, and so on); and a concrete set of named dishes you can actually make from it, each with a one-line note. Where a primal breaks into famous steaks or subprimals, surface that breakdown too — for example RIB yielding ribeye and prime rib, SHORT LOIN yielding strip, T-bone, and porterhouse, CHUCK yielding flat iron and pot roast, ROUND yielding top round and eye of round, BRISKET splitting into flat and point, PLATE giving skirt and short ribs, FLANK giving flank steak, SHANK giving braises in the osso-buco tradition. Make this content feel like it was written by someone who cooks and knows the trade.
Give the experience a strong, characteristic atmosphere drawn from a hand-painted butcher's chart: a charcoal- or ink-rendered cow standing in profile on warm off-white paper, chalk-white hand-drawn dividing seams, uppercase hand-lettered labels, a single warm accent for the active cut, and a faint paper grain or soft vignette so the screen never reads as a sterile 3D viewport. Add quiet ambient life — a gentle idle drift or breathing motion when the scene is untouched, a subtle parallax, a measurement or hanging-rail motif, a draw-on animation when a cut line is traced — and crisp micro-interactions on every control. Provide a persistent but minimal chrome: a title, a clear way to reset to the whole cow, and a legend or cut list that two-way syncs with the 3D highlight (hover or click a name in the list and the model responds, and vice versa). Make it fully responsive — on narrow screens the 3D scene and the dossier should reflow gracefully, the dossier becoming a bottom sheet or stacked panel — and keep selection, hover, and reset reachable by keyboard with visible focus.
Treat the secondary and edge states as first-class, because they are what make a reference feel inhabited: an orienting opening moment or title card with a one-line "how to explore" hint that dismisses on first interaction; a proper loading state while the 3D scene prepares; a graceful, honest fallback message if WebGL is unavailable; and clear unselected, hovered, selected, and in-transition states throughout. If it strengthens the reference, add a small affordance to compare two cuts or to filter by primal, but never at the expense of the core orbit-scope-read loop. The content depth must be real across *every* cut in the map, not just the two or three most famous ones — a visitor who clicks BRISKET or SHANK or BOTTOM SIRLOIN should find the same care as one who clicks RIB.
Do not take shortcuts, do not ship a flat 2D mockup, and do not stop at a generic 3D model viewer wearing dummy labels. This skill imposes no token budget limit, so pursue the experience to its full depth: a genuine orbitable, zoomable, clickable 3D carcass; a real scope-in camera move per cut; real hover and selection feedback with the charcoal-and-chalk butcher's-chart atmosphere; a complete, authored dossier of history, character, cooking logic, and named dishes for every single primal and subprimal in the map; and honest loading, fallback, responsive, and keyboard states. Keep refining the interactions, the motion, the content, and the small details until the result feels like a crafted, complete reference that a cook would actually return to — not a demo shell that merely recognises the silhouette of a cow.
