1. Introduction
Welcome to ShipThePrompt ("we," "us," or "our"), a community platform for discovering and sharing software built with AI prompts. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal data when you use ShipThePrompt or contact us. It is intended to describe our practices under applicable privacy laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where it applies.
2. Data we collect
We collect the information needed to provide the service and respond to you:
- Account and profile data: Your email address, display name, username, profile image, authentication details, and other information you choose to add.
- Community data: Projects, demos, tools, models, comments, votes, follows, claims, and other content or interactions you submit. Public posts may be visible to anyone who visits the website.
- Technical data: Device and browser information, approximate usage events, IP address, and security logs that may be received by our hosting, authentication, and infrastructure providers.
- Messages and support data: The details you provide when you contact us, submit a request, or report a problem.
- AI feature inputs: Prompts, descriptions, or other content you submit to an AI-powered feature so it can return a result. Do not submit sensitive personal data unless the feature specifically requires it and you have a lawful basis to do so.

- To operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve ShipThePrompt.
- To process AI feature requests and return generated results.

- To respond to questions, feedback, and support requests.
4. Legal bases
Where the GDPR applies, we process data as necessary to perform our agreement with you, to pursue legitimate interests such as security and service improvement, to comply with legal obligations, or based on your consent where we ask for it. You can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
5. Data sharing and service providers
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only as needed with providers that help us run ShipThePrompt, including Firebase and Google Cloud services for authentication and database infrastructure, our hosting and storage providers, and AI model providers when you use an AI-powered feature. These providers process data under their agreements with us and our instructions where applicable.
Some providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where required, we use an appropriate transfer mechanism and safeguards under applicable law.
6. Data retention
We retain account, profile, and community data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We may retain limited records longer when necessary for security, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or to preserve the integrity of public discussions. We delete or anonymize data when it is no longer needed for these purposes.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, as well as the right to data portability. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise your rights, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
8. Cookies and security
We use necessary cookies and similar storage for authentication, security, consent preferences, and core functionality. Optional analytics cookies are not currently active. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. More detail is available in our Cookie Policy.
9. Children
ShipThePrompt is not directed to children who are not permitted to use online services under the laws that apply to them. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version here and update the date above. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].
